Valentine’s Bridal Makeup Inspiration

Valentine’s Day is just a few short days away and romantic hues are everywhere! Why not let these pretty roses and reds inspire your bridal look?! Subtle or strong, there is a red lip and a pink cheek for everyone!

To get the creative juices flowing, here are a few gorgeous examples of sweet and sexy pink and red makeup perfect for any special occasion, like maybe Valentine’s Day or your wedding day!

A few tips:

1. When doing a red lip, make sure to line and fill your lips before applying lipstick. Also, go for a shade with blue undertones (they make your teeth look whiter).

2. Apply blush lightly to the apples of your cheeks and sweep upwards toward your temples. Be careful not to go overboard.

3. A smokey pink eye can be absolutely heavenly, and should not be underestimated. These tones are sure to bring out the best in any eye color!

Whether you go for a bold red lip or sweet, romantic petal pinks, these warm hues are versatile enough for anyone to play with and find what works. How will you be wearing pink and red this weekend?

Duggar Dress Inspiration

Another Duggar daughter got married over the weekend (Don’t act like you weren’t excited)! Jessa Duggar married Ben Seewald on Saturday, and they definitely stayed true to their own style. The couple chose to have a private first kiss and served ice cream sundaes instead of cake. And Jessa’s dress? Blush pink!

Jessa’s dress was a blush Allure Bridal gown with a beaded bodice and custom silhouette. She probably wanted to mix it up from the likely-expected white dress, so let’s all take a moment to appreciate the simple beauty of a blushing bride who’s pretty in pink!

See?! Even the guys love the pink! What do you think? Would you wear color for your big day?

So Chignon

One of the classics in bridal hairstyles is a soft, pretty chignon. This style works great with almost any neckline, and is perfect for achieving the ultimate elegant look. Throw in braids, curls or hair jewelry to really make the style special.

When creating an chignon for your wedding day, make sure you do a trial run. Bring pictures to your stylist–as many as you think would be helpful–and make sure she is comfortable creating the look. Use the trial run to work out any kinks in the style. Or, if things go smoothly, use the gift of a good hair day to have your bridal portraits done!

If you’re craving an updo for your I-Do’s, here’s a bit of inspiration to get you on your way.

Let’s Talk Trends: Off-the-Shoulder Dresses

A big trend in wedding dresses that I’ve been seeing a lot more of lately (and one that I am falling more and more in love with daily) is the off-the-shoulder look. I love that it’s a bit of a twist on a classic and yet it’s a new enough trend to be a unique feature for brides who want a little edge.

Sleeves can be structures, loose, flowy, long, illusion–whatever your style, there’s an off-the-shoulder option for you! Just see for yourself!

And my personal favorite (currently)…

I love the off-the-shoulder trend, and I would love to try this style for myself. I love the sweet twist on a classic look. What are your thoughts?
