Bridal Trends from NYBFW: Color Crush

Color is becoming increasingly popular in bridal as designers cater to brides’ desire to break tradition and be themselves. While blushes and pinks have been popping up in bridal collections for a few years now, one color that is really seeing a big surge in popularity is blue! Hey, it’s perfect! If you’re gonna do the whole “Something Old, Something New” thing, why not make your “Something Blue” your wedding dress!?

Would you wear blue for your walk down the aisle? Or is there another color you would opt for over traditional tones?

Pretty Pink Winter Wedding Ideas

I love winter weddings. Even though it’s cold outside, they always look so warm and pretty. One of my favorite colors to incorporate into a winter wedding is pink! Just because it’s not spring doesn’t mean you should leave out this pretty color, especially if it’s a favorite shade of yours! You can work it in through little touches like the cake or boutonnieres, or make a bigger impact with pink flowers and decorations or even your attire. Mix in gold and muted or neutral tones to make the pink stand outย and add a warmth to the overall look.

Pretty in Periwinkle

Yesterday, I went with Leslie (the wedding planner I’m interning for) to a site visit with a bride and her family. As they were discussing decoration options, the bride mentioned she had decided to go with periwinkle as one of her colors. Leslie loved the idea, as one of her mom’s wedding colors was periwinkle. I love it too. Personally, I think periwinkle is an underrated and underutilized color that can work with so many venues, seasons, accent colors, flowers, etc.

In honor of promoting this fabulously sweet shade, today’s post is all about periwinkle!
